Disassembling a Glock 48 OEM Slide

  1. Confirm the firearm is unloaded. Remove the magazine and check the chamber.
  2. Slightly pull the slide back and pull down the takedown levers on both sides.
  3. Let the slide move forward and remove it from the frame.
  4. Compress the recoil spring assembly and lift it out.
  5. Lift and slide the barrel out of the slide.
  6. You’ve now disassembled the Glock 48 slide for cleaning or modifications.

Reinstalling a Glock Slide

  1. Insert the barrel into the slide.
  2. Seat the recoil spring assembly by pressing the flat end against the barrel lug.
  3. Align the slide with the frame rails.
  4. Pull the slide fully rearward and release it to lock into place.
  5. Perform a function check after installation to ensure proper operation.

Do not attempt to interchange this slide with other Glock models unless you have verified compatibility. The Glock 48 slide is not compatible with Glock G19, 17, or PSA Dagger frames. The Glock 48 uses a slimline frame and a narrow slide, unlike the double-stack frames used in other models.
